Praise for Can’t Beat the Love to Eat: Can’t Beat the Love to Eat: Recipes and Tidbits, written by Jackie Rogers of Falkville, Alabama, is the only cookbook you will ever need. These recipes are not just for the southern cook, but for anyone who wants to impress. The good stuff is all here. I’ve never seen anything to beat this cookbook. There’s a recipe to make dumplings (as in chicken and), and one for red eye gravy (as in fried ham with). I have a hard time finding good cake frosting recipes. Jackie has so many, you’re bound to find the one you need. Quite frankly, I have never found a cookbook with so many frosting and filling recipes in it. I’m in heaven! There’s fried green tomatoes (yes!), new potato salad, and several chicken recipes to make your mouth water. Need to have a brunch and don’t know what to fix? Jackie can fix you up with her amazing brunch section. The tidbits-especially the hints section, measures, and substitutions sections-alone are worth the price of the book. I guarantee that if you use this cookbook, you will be famous for your great cooking. -J.S. Porter, Foods editor for the Northeast Alabamian newspaper, Fyffe, and Fort Payne, Alabama
