This book is a story that was made up from some historical documents while the author lived in Silverton, Colorado. The town and surrounding area is filled with stories, true, and not so true of the life and times of the first gold and silver miners that came to Colorado to find their fortunes. Most of the stories of these early days of the settlers searching for gold revolve around adults, the men and women who endured the hard times that came with that way of life, but their children were also part of their lives. So, the author decided to give the children a chance to be recognized.
