The Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs’) are Vestiges of Slavery and thus a slur and disgrace to our national image and interest. It creates a two tier educational system which hurts the blacks. These segregated colleges are producing a bi modal society and therefore the society instead of separate and equal is in reality becoming separate and unequal . The social cleavage produced over the years by the HBCUs’ is resulting in a deep chasm and must be eliminated if we want to meet the growing challenges from other countries in this flat world .
