Steve’s life was defined by plastic. An engineer at heart, he started an injection molding company that grew
to more than 9,000 employees, with manufacturing plants around the world and a private jet to complete
the package. Though Steve and Barbara thought they had it all, the demands of a successful business took their toll. When they retired in 2005, they were ready to enjoy their golden years with an exemplary marriage.

Then disaster struck.

In the aftermath of a severe panic attack, Barbara was diagnosed with cancer. For nearly two years, she was
