Sixteen-year old Jorm and his adopted brother, Makile, live in a peaceful village in the forest with a wise leader and a loving family. However, this life of peace is not enough for the restless pair. They seek adventure in faraway places. When opportunity presents itself in a group of passing Rimen soldiers, Jorm and Makile jump at the chance. When the pair realizes what they’re doing, they find themselves deep in a climactic war between good and evil. During their travels, they meet Athri, a Rimen girl who, like Jorm and Makile, is dissatisfied with her life and wants more. Together, the three encounter fiery vimags, fearsome Demin soldiers, and a mysterious Oracle. All the while, they unwittingly wander nearer and nearer to a dark secret about the forces of darkness that threaten to overrun the land.
