Survived to Love: A journey to find acceptance and validation; resulted in the discovery of love.

This story takes place in a time when surviving was all that was expected of one. The main character had to move from being the head of his mother’s household to trying to support his own family in very hard times. Having to support a fast growing family he struggled within himself to survive. Being a sharecropper was the only way he knew to support and raise a large family. This decision systematically caused his relationship with his family to take a downward spiral into chaos and destruction. Through a process of time and a lot of devastating mistakes the abuse subsided, as this man slowly and determinedly began the process of trying to win back the family that he had all but lost. The wall of fear and frustration that was the family’s protection from him had to be dismantled one brick at a time by trust. In the end a deeper and more meaningful relationship was birthed from the latter.
