In this book, the author shares but a few brief reflections on a much larger story, that of the spiritual journey. Writing not only for himself but on behalf of many, the author speaks of what a growing number of persons are experiencing as a rather dark moment in their spiritual journey as Roman Catholics. Something of that darkness is expressed in the following senti ments: - Spiritual needs and hungers are not being satisfied. - The laity have no voice in the church. - The gulf between the laity and the magisterium continues - to grow only wider. - Churchianity has superceded Christianity. - etc., etc. As a priest who is sharing the story of many persons, it is our hope that every reader will see him/herself within the pages of this text. And for all who find these words resonating within their own experience of the spiritual journey, it is further hoped that they too will join a growing chorus of voices that are crying out for reform, renewal and newness of life within the church.
