All cat owners know that their pets are reserved, meticulous about their grooming, and likely to purr softly when pleased. Why, then, do we put up with and even adore these furry creatures? Because even in their manners finicky or relaxed, the animals are fun.

In a broader sense, our book is about loving creatures for who they are, not for what they might or could be. It’s about recognizing and loving a being for its good qualities, and its about laughing at the little things. When we wrote the book, we had in mind for our audience children who like to laugh, that is, all children. We suspect that all children also find comfort and enjoyment in the presence of pets, no matter how quirky they are.
