Bright Stripes on Friday, a children’s picture book by author Mary Bonacker and illustrator L. Michelle Law, is a perfect recipe for making learning fun. In this first collaborative effort, they use the magnificent imagination of a little girl to combine color, pattern and design with a subliminal spoonful of phonetics as the days of the week are delightfully served up on an entertaining tray. Although specifically written for preschoolers, this is a meticulously detailed pictorial, filled with winsome words to be gobbled and enjoyed by children of all ages over and over again until buttons are busting over bellies.
