From the author: My title refers to the journey Mother and I took into the world of Alzheimer’s. As I listen to others talk about their experiences, they also refer to it as a journey. In many ways that word accurately describes the experience. When you start out on a journey, you often meet many obstacles-twists and turns in the road-many joyful and some not so happy events occur. Much the same happens when you care for someone with Alzheimer’s. The road ahead is unknown-sometimes scary with many bumps, twists and turns, and sometimes precious and breathtakingly wonderful.
