Sharon Anne Dobyns Moehring is a fifth-generation descendant of DeWitt and Jones families in Gonzales, Texas. She was born in Lompoc, California when her father was training in U.S. Army armored division at Camp Cook. When she was 6 month old, her mother brought Sharon home in Houston, Texas, and her father was deported to England in early 1944. Her father joined Super 6th Armored Division, one of General George S. Patton’s Third Army Divisions in World War II, and returned home with Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Citation and French Croix de Guerre with Silver Gilt Star in late 1945. She attended Westbury High School and San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Business College of Houston, and was an IBM operator for Raymond Geographic, Inc. and retired as a homemaker. She is a member of Gonzales Chapter of Daughters of Republic of Texas, San Jacinto Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, and Former Texas Rangers Association. Her husband John is senior designer and CAD operator for the consulting firms in Houston, Texas over thirty years. They live in Hockley, Texas, and enjoy their horses at their farm.
