Kathleen Richards had an impoverished and neglectful childhood. At the age of 17 she and her sister Patricia packed their bags and sought respite by moving in with a seemingly friendly local couple, Rosemary and Fred West. It was a fateful decision that would haunt them for the rest of their lives. Kathleen was subjected to further abuse by West and only escaped after 18 months.
