The Modern Theologians Reader is an accompaniment to the third edition of The Modern Theologians (ed. David F. Ford with Rachel Muers), designed to follow the latter closely in length and structure. As well as standing on its own as a wide-ranging and enjoyable sampler of modern theology, the Reader enhances the use of the main volume as a class textbook. It collects a wide range of primary source materials in one volume. Pedagogically rich: it will allow students and teachers to combine their study of the commentaries in the main volume with their own scrutiny of texts on which those commentaries are based. It provides introductory notes and annotations to each extract to help students understand the relevance and importance of each extract.
