Socrates: The Public Conscience of Golden Age Athens

Socrates, declared by the Oracle of Delphi to be the wisest man of all time, set out to challenge the assumptions people made about morality, and lay out clear definitions of right and wrong. His methods earned him friends, as well as enemies who had him put to death. Students will learn about a towering figure of moral philosophy, and the collapse of the golden age of Athens.
