This is the story of EM. Short for nothing, just a name. She is a survivor. Following the twists and turns of her life; the fear and loneliness, the suspense and mystery, only emphasise her feisty and uncrushable spirit.

Home for Em is a place without a father or parental love, where cruelty and violence find a place to hide. She and her three siblings are raised by their disciplinarian mother in a basement flat in London.

A convent boarding school at 5 years old is her prison for eleven loveless years; a very strange place where constant distractions feed her imagination whilst interrupting her education. This plucky girl can’t wait to escape into a world of real people and ungodly influences. Will she find the better life she has always been searching for…?
