Julie and Kleo grow up in the moon colony raised by their moms. Julie falls in love with Jerry, the football captain and Kleo is upset. He knows the football captain’s reputation with girls and it’s terrible. But when Kleo finds out his dad, who died in the war between Earth and its colonies, and his mom are were creatures, he’s not sure what to think. Then he learns he is one and so is Jerry. With Jerry’s and Kleo’s difference of opinion on how to treat Julie, they have fights, which end up involving the rest of the colony. People who knew them are suddenly not sure what to think about the were creatures.
