I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person. It is tricky dining out, but I just stick to what I know - veggies, fruit and salad - then when I get home I’ll have something else. I was raised on meat and cheese, so I’ve had enough for anyone’s normal life span.
Ariana says she follows a mostly macrobiotic diet. This diet is based on ideas from Zen Buddhism, and balances yin and yang elements of food. The reduces the eating of animal products such as meat and milk and tries to use natural foods that are locally produced. Foods eaten are wholegrains such as brown rice, barley, oats and buckwheat; fruits and vegetables; bean and bean products such as tofu, miso and tempeh and sea vegetables such as seaweed. Ariana is a particularly big fan of Japanese vegan food.
