Super Survivors: Citizens of the World and Planet Earth / Super Sobrevivientes: Ciudadanos del Mundo y del Planeta Tierra is a memoir of survival across parts of the old and new worlds. It is also the story of loss, pain, suffering, and survival. It is the story of two girls who survived the 2010 quake and 2016 hurricane Matthew only to embark on a journey with their parents through many Central and South American countries, especially the Darien Gap. Carline and Rose survived the catastrophic natural disasters and followed their parents to Brazil which they left a few months after. Their journey took them to the jungle of South and Central Americas, crossed many countries only to find themselves separated from their parents after a raid in the jungle.

Will they ever get reunited with their parents? Who will take care of them during the rest of the journey to the North? Will they ever make it to the borderland? When and if they do make it, will they arrive at the Tijuana / San Ysidro Port of Entry?

The immigration policies changed after the November 2016 election. A new president was elected in the USA. How long will the mass of African, Asian, and Latin American migrants be stranded in Tijuana, Mexicali, Tecate, Nogales, and other border towns?

Will Carline and Rose find a Good Samaritan to feed and shelter them until they have an appointment to plead their case?

With a new administration on the north, more and more migrants may finally realize that the American dream can be found on the other side of the border.
