A. B. Simpson's classic commentary on the Gospels takes a four-pronged approach to the life, virtues and purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ. Firstly the book considers Christ's role as a savior of mankind. Simpson ably defines what salvation is, what its consequences are for believers, and how blessings are dispensed and received. The second chapter concerns the sanctification of Jesus Christ; the process through which he acquired rightful renown as a holy figure.
