On the topic of Domestic Violence, most people see black and white. If you are a victim, tell someone, like a family member, friend or co-worker. The reality however tells a very different story. Especially for Black Women according to Kippert, A. (2018). "Except, not everyone feels that way. Some contend that Black women specifically are more reluctant to disclose domestic violence than other ethnicities for several different reasons, one of which is entrenched in Black culture". There is a strong black woman stereotype resulting in Black Woman suffering from Domestic Violence at a rate of 30% to 50% higher than White Woman. When thinking of this topic, we all say to ourselves, these women, all women who suffer from Domestic Violence have to make the choice to leave if they want to be healthy and happy. If it were that easy, if life choices were truly that simple I would not be writing this book and the two books to follow. Revelations in June is part one of a trilogy, titled "Climb Inside My Mind". A fictional tale of one woman who lives a normal life and faces what she thinks are normal challenges. Except those challenges aren't normal at all. In the communities where I've lived and worked I have seen all kinds of things most people would say is "normal". So read my three books, starting with Part I and you be the judge.
