I have written this book in an effort to preserve history and to honor those that served in defense of our great country in the Second World War. What started as a project to simply talk to World War Two veterans about their experiences has blossomed into a full project resulting in the printing of this book, and hopefully more after this one as well. I believe that the stories and memories that these veterans carry with them should be documented and shared. Many of the stories are things that stood out in the mind of each individual; daily events that were not significant enough to make the history books, yet events that impacted the individuals in one way or another and stories that add a more human and relatable aspect to the war. It's important to remember that the events we see today portrayed in video games and in movies were real events, experienced by real people. The contents of this book are the exact words, spoken or written, by the veterans I spoke with. Please be cognizant that there may be vulgar language and terms used that some may find offensive. However, due to the need to maintain an accurate account, no spoken or written words have been altered or censored.
