First part of the history of the famous English fighter jet Hawker Hunter and its unknown operation in the Chilean Air Force. This book recounts the operation of the first batch of this fighter-bomber acquired by the FACh in 1967, highlighting and detailing the Hunters that were previously operated by the Belgian Air Force and the Royal Netherlands Air Force and their subsequent operation in Aviation Groups No. 7, 8 and 9 until 1995, where their operation in the coup d'etat of 1973 is described, Operation Atlantes and its modification programs throughout its career in Chile. More than 35 years of the operation of these aircraft are recounted in 176 pages, supported by more than 350 photographs and more than 150 digital illustrations made by Julio Arrospide, which includes most of the paint schemes used by these Hunters in the FAB, RFAN and FACh.
