Lee Roy J. Tappan (1880-1905) is a little-known American poet, Decadent, and aesthete, who lived in New York's Southern Tier. In 1902, he published his only known book of poems, The Meditations of Ali Ben Hafiz, before dying in 1905 at the age of 25. In this volume, published on the 120th Anniversary of its original publication, we include all the known works of Tappan, including his articles, letters, and essays on aesthetics, local history, and archeology.
