While personal/private worship is paramount in the life of every believer, it should never be forgotten that all of life is worship for the child of God. Devotional exercises are only part of the believer's walk with God. One's relationship with God cannot be compartmentalized but encompasses every aspect of life. Work, recreation, relationships - everything in which the believer engages is to be done for the glory of God and becomes an ipso facto act of worship. Given its unique format, the Directory may be used profitably year after year. Look upon it as a well-worn path leading to the "wilderness," "garden," and "mountain" where sweet communion with God may be found.
