BREEZES OF AFRICAN NIGHTS. In many ways, I have always wanted to put together a collection of tales set on the soils of Africa. The reason is purely nostalgia. Maybe as a Yoruba Writer at heart, I still and always will long for something culturally richer, buried in the past. My grandfather used to gather us and friends under the starry African nights with its attendant gentle breezes and tell us tales. There are five short stories included in this collection. Tales, which in comparison are modern in nature. Mostly, they are based on African customs and practices but in part linking us, indigenous colored peoples, to other worlds. These new places are farther beyond the oceans, which separated our grandparents from the rest of the world. Aiyeko-ooto.
