Rollercoasters: Gothic Tales

This anthology includes 12 short stories and four poems from much-loved authors which are the perfect introduction to the gothic genre for KS3. The stories include a haunted Red Room in a castle, a mountaineer's mysterious death in a guest house and a scrimshaw tooth which seems to hold dark powers as well as an introduction to one of the most famous gothic characters - Dracula. Superstition runs rife in these stories which are full of suspense, featuring violent wolves, graveyard scenes, terrifying monsters and shadows all around. The anthology is chilling with much suspense and makes the reader question what is real and what is imagined. It is categorised into sections and a note from the anthology's editor Benjamin Hulme-Cross accompanies each section.
