"Waking Up Is a Disgusting Habit" is Hatfield's first book and collection of poetry. Shawn Hatfield was born in Fairfax, Virginia in October of 1992 and was raised in Hamilton He graduated from Radford University in 2015 and earned a Bachelor's of Music Business. He published his first poem in 2015 and continually publishes his work in journals, magazines, and newspapers. He looks forward to publishing a novel this year. In 2016, Hatfield started his own literary magazine and small publishing company, The Borfski Press. They are a quarterly magazine and do both print and ebook issues. They accept all art forms and have a high acceptance rate. Hatfield currently owns and operates his own recording studio and music instruction business, Groove: Music Lessons + Recording in Leesburg, Virginia.
