A Living Presence, Extending and Transforming the Tradition of Catholic Sacred Architecture, is the proceedings document of the 2010 symposium of the same name, held at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC in May of 2010. The Living Presence Symposium was organized by The Partnership for Catholic Sacred Architecture under the chairmanship of architect Michael Patrick, AIA as a collaboration between the School of Architecture at The University of Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana (Prof. Duncan Stroik) and The School of Architecture & Planning at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC (Prof. George J. Martin). The purpose of the symposium was to establish a forum for discussion between interested parties in academia, the design professions, the clergy and craftsmen, on the current state and direction of Catholic Sacred Architecture.
