Jo's boss has sent her by train to Stirling in Scotland to deliver a small package. The errand is causing her considerable disquiet. There was something extremely strange about it and she does not want to be involved in anything criminal. After working hard to obtain a good degree in mathematics, Stephen is travelling to the Scottish Highlands in the hope of walking off his disillusionment with the subject by hiking up the West Highland Way to Fort William and beyond.
