This universe we share is a funny old place full of suns and stars and planets and, if certain scientists can be believed, multiple dimensions that increase the probability of the existence of different types of life. We know about humans of course and we share one particular dimension of our planet with ooooh... probably millions of different animals, insects, fishes and goodness knows what else! But what about the other dimensions? Those parallel universes that have been suggested by such eminent physicists as television presenter Brian Cox, Professor of Particle Physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester, and the late Professor Stephen Hawking of Cambridge University where he was a vigorous supporter of the 'many worlds' theory. But who inhabits these 'many worlds'? And, perhaps more importantly, what happens when our reality impinges on, and interacts with, them? When, by accident or design, a door, a pathway, a portal, is opened between the two. Can we use it to cross over? And can other beings use it to trespass into our world? It would seem so. How else could you explain the fact that flower elf Pinkie Dianthus, comes to be looking after the gardens of a large eighteenth century house known as Witch-Haven on the outskirts of the pretty little village of Chipping in the wild countryside of the Ribble Valley in Lancashire? Of course, it may also have something to do with the fact that Pinkie has a certain way with the ladies and has a daughter(s), Tiffany/Jessica (don't ask - it's a bit complicated) with a human teenage girl called Jackie Hoskins.
