The area encompassed is that of the old Urban District Council. This history of New Quay's growth from a tiny handful of fishermen's and coastguards' cottages has never been traced so thoroughly. There are many new discoveries as a result of this detailed study . It is very exciting to see vanished houses re-emerge both in their history and in old photographs, the majority of which have never before been published.
