The European war is a long way from the fighting that is consuming the Pacific. The ANZACs and the US 5TH Mechanised Division are too few in number to defend Australia's coastline. Fear of China's nuclear arsenal has left the allies with limited friends, and there is trouble at home, in the West. Now that war in Europe has reached its bloody end and the men came home to less than gratitude from the politicians. In the Pacific all eyes are on the Spratly Islands as the Allies combat the Chinese 3rd and 6th Armies. The aftermath in Europe may have left the US and the ANZACs standing alone, or has it?
