Die beindruckend frische und klassisch angelegte funfsatzige Sinfonie D-Dur, ist eine der zwei Thieriot'schen Sinfonien ohne Nummerierung. Der Komponist schrieb, neben seiner im Druck erschienenen Sinfonietta E-Dur, op. 55, neun weitere, bis dato unveroffentlichte Sinfonien. Neben der 5. Symphonie cis-Moll (Taschenpartitur und Dirigierpartitur ebenfalls bei AlbisMusic erschienen) ist dieses nun das zweite sinfonische Grosswerk, welches wir von dem Brahms-Zeitgenossen Ferdinand Thieriot (1838-1919) vorliegen haben. Die Dirigierpartitur und das Stimmenmaterial erscheint im Februar 2015.
