Faust. Eine Tragodie (auch bekannt als Faust. Der Tragodie erster Teil oder einfach Faust I) von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ist wohl das bedeutendste Werk der deutschen Literatur. Erstmals wurde die Tragodie im Jahr 1808 veroffentlicht. Goethe wurde von der Geschichte des historischen Doktor Johann Faustus inspiriert, der bereits Protagonist in einem 1587 erschienenen Volksbuch und in einem Drama von Christopher Marlowes, 1589 uraufgefuhrt, war.
