It is with great pleasure that I commend to you this first ever edition of the TBW Anthology. In two short years, TBW - The Big Write - has become somewhat of an institution at Sarum Academy and this anthology of entries demonstrates just why. With almost a quarter of the academy's pupils entering the competition, not to mention a significant body of staff, its inspiring effect on young writers is undeniable. The entries you will read here showcase the imaginations and ambitions of young people when it comes to expressing their creative soul. They reveal hidden talents as well as overt personalities. And they remind me why the vocation of being a teacher is not only a great responsibility, but provides the most rewarding of opportunities to enable young people's creativity to flourish.
