Jason Wells lives the professional life of a successful architect who is known for his talent and ability in his field. His personal life tells a very different tale. A divorcee of two years, Jason finds himself in a long court battle for visitation of his two children, now teenagers, against his former wife, Shelia. Along the way, he is invited to a dinner party hosted by a powerful client, Lee McDermott, who owns most of the city and his wife, Kate. Jason and Kate are drawn to each other from the moment that they first meet and Jason soon learns that Kate as well as her two children with Lee are trapped in a very unhappy life with him. Jason then does his best to convince Kate that what they feel for each other is real and that he can give her and her children the life that they have always deserved. In the midst of it all, Jason is called back to court for his custody hearing. Can Jason regain his children and bring Kate into his life or will the outsides forces stop his new life before it even begins?
