It reenacts the trail ride of pioneer cattlemen and their herds to Houston from the rich salt grass pastures on the Texas Gulf Coast. More than 6,000 riders participate today, in many trail rides from all over Texas. This book "Riding Along the Salt Grass Trail" traces the rich history and current participants along their route and overnight stops as the wagons and riders converge for the grand rodeo parade through downtown Houston.
