By March, A.D. 27, Jesus had attracted a large and persistent following. One night, He and His disciples lodged south of Capernaum near the shore of the Sea of Galilee. While the others slept, Jesus slipped away to a plateau on a gentle, mountain slope to converse with His Father and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity decided it was time to add structure to the nascent Church, then known as the "Kingdom of God". So, as the Sun proclaimed a new day, Jesus summoned 12 disciples. He ordained them, naming them "Apostles", and gave them power to heal the sick and evict demons from the possessed. Joyfully, this newly-minted Ministry Team descended to the plain nestled between the mountain and the sea. They were greeted by an enormous crowd. The 13 men healed the sick and the possessed, and then, Jesus stepped onto a boulder and delivered the "Sermon On the Plain". Those who believed His Words repented, made Jesus their Lord, and were immersed in the sea. In the next 27 months, Jesus taught the 12 and many other faithful Church members how to evangelize. This book highlights the events of that period in chronological order and clarifies the meaning of verses that seem to conflict with other passages in the Bible. Jesus taught by example. He moved from village to village telling and re-telling His famous parables and voicing His Gospel. He instructed His Apostles at evening campfires. And then, He sent them two by two to preach the Gospel throughout Israel. He showed the Gospel was for all by preaching for 3 days in Sychar at the behest of a Samaritan woman, and by healing the children of Romans and a SyroPhoenician woman. He fed the 5000 in the Golan Heights and the 4000 in Decapolis. And, when asked to continue giving free food, He said, "No!. I did not come to provide table food. I am the 'Bread of Life'. He that, spiritually, consumes Me nourishes his soul." He awed His Apostles by rescuing them from drowning in a violent storm, reaching them by walking upon the angry sea. And, throughout the period, Jesus quarreled with the clerics of Judaism and the lawyers of the High Priest and King Herod's court. He told His Apostle, "Ignore men who teach doctrines not in the Bible!" Opposition to the early Church led to the execution of "John the Baptist". He was murdered for preaching against King Herod's adulterous relationship with the wife of his brother.
