An imaginative eight-year-old boy enjoys a wonderful family vacation in the Les Cheneaux Islands of Lake Huron. He then embarks on an swashbuckling time-travel adventure with a pirate captain and his crew on the Great Lakes. They encounter and defeat the dastardly pirate Captain Lowe on Lake Superior, rescue shipwreck survivors on Lake Michigan, and participate in the Battle of Lake Erie.
