Maine Specific Land Surveying Exam Study Guide
Tara Mullen
This study guide is broken down into six chapters: Surveying Practice, Property, Easements, Roads, Water, and Subdivision Rules. Sources used include many writings by Knud Hermansen, State Statutes, and my previous academic work at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine. It is not intended to replace these resources or to negate the importance of reading them in their entirety, but to provide a jumping-off point for those seeking licensure in Maine. More general topics, such as applying the priority of calls to a boundary determination, which may be included on the exam, are better covered in other courses and books. What is included here is intentionally narrowed in scope to focus only on Maine.
