The early decades of the twentieth century were a time of remarkable technological innovations, amazing exploratory discoveries, and groundbreaking navigational achievements. This story of Scottish born Donald Graham Sturrock follows his exploits across Canada from British Columbia into the uncharted regions above the Arctic Circle. During his time in the arctic he learned to love the native Inuit people, their culture, and way of life. He spent years learning from the colorful and well-known William Paddy Gibson, who became his friend and mentor. Donald had many notable achievements during his short life including historic accomplishments in wireless communication, navigation of the Northwest Passage in a canoe, and a shared life with the native Inuit people in the frozen tundra. Sadly, his adventure ended abruptly during World War II when he heroically lost his life while fighting against fascism in the scorching heat of Southeast Asia.
