This collection, Adventures in the Courtyard, starts in the courtyard hosting poetry with the challenge of bringing new material to the readings monthly. Once I started hosting, I didn't want to read the same material over and over so I challenged myself to write at least 1 new poem monthly and to experiment with style: Free-flowing verse poet ventures in the world of form and explores villanelles, sestinas and pantoums. Here, the influence is contemporary poets who have mastered the various forms as I would read the contemporary poet's work at my poetry event. There is still plenty of free-flowing poems contained within these pages but the venture into forms produces a different flavor.
