A clerihew is a whimsical four-line verse of the form AABB, the first line of which is the name of a famous person. By way of contrast, a Japanese haiku typically comprises three unrhymed lines with seventeen syllables (5,7,5) and evokes the natural world. This personal collection of clerihews and haikus-some daft, some bawdy-has as its exclusive focus the wondrous, whacky world of association football.
