The history of martial arts is world history, yet people of color are seldom included in that story. More so, women of color are often omitted. From antiquity to now, women of color have been engaged in the martial arts to help protect their families and communities and to help transform the lives of many. Here, in the United States, there is a society of Blackbelt women of color - hidden jewels - that need to be uncovered. These hidden jewels are "SHEroes" who look like us. They are helping to keep our communities strong and thriving.
