In 2012 the Swindon Robins speedway team won the Elite League in Great Britain for the first time since 1967. Much has been written about their sucess on track; less has been written about the team of volunteers who work throughout the year to prepare the track to allow racing to go ahead. Taken from the pages of the Blunsdon Blog, a web site that follows their work, the book describes the "hidden side of speedway" at Swindon. Over 370 pages long and with in excess of 1,200 photographs, the book affords a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes. The author, Graham Cooke, whose previous books have included "The Year of the Blog" and "Poetry and Writing of the 1st World War" introduces the readers to a fascinating group of characters, bound by their love of the "shale sport". The book features photographs from behind the scenes at Swindon and also from the 2012 British Speedway Grand Prix in Cardiff.
