Occupied France is under the control of the Nazis, but there are some who will not accept this state of affairs. Dominique is one of these. She helps downed airmen escape into Spain, until she meets Jack, an Australian bomber pilot. They fall in love but are separated by the war. After the war, Dominique searches for Jack without success. More than forty years later, Dominique's daughter discovers what had happened to her father. Finally, she comes to Australia to meet her relatives, who do not know of her existence, and in the process, finds a true love of her own.
