Met het theologische begrip theofanie drukt men uit dat God zich aan de mens openbaart, zich op een zichtbare manier manifesteert. Een voorwaarde voor zo'n manifestatie is natuurlijk het feit dat God bestaat, en voor de critici onder ons stelt zich hier de vraag of dit uberhaupt een feit is ...Met deze vraag was ik wel een tiental jaren zoet. Het resultaat van mijn zoektocht naar wie of wat God is, is deze bundel. Het is een verzameling van teksten en gedichten die bij dezelfde uitgeverij al in mijn vroegere dicht- en tekstbundels verschenen zijn. U vindt hier dus geen nieuwe teksten, maar wel een samenvatting van andere teksten van mij rond dit thema. Ik vind het desondanks best de moeite waard.
