The United States Government Printing Office (GPO) was created in June 1860, and is an agency of the U.S. federal government based in Washington D.C. The office prints documents produced by and for the federal government, including Congress, the Supreme Court, the Executive Office of the President and other executive departments, and independent agencies. Titles beginning with a S or a H are reports of congressional committees regarding proposed laws and/or are reports on issues under investigation. Titles starting with Ex are reports of the Committee on Foreign Relations relating to Treaties between the U. S. and foreign countries. These reports have been submitted to the U.S. Senate for acceptance, or are reports of different Senate Committees regarding nomination of individuals.
