The "Short narrative" was prepared, accepted at a town meeting held March 19, and ordered immediately printed. "By the Honourable Thomas Hutchinson, Esq: lieutenant-governor ... I do hereby certify, that Richard Dana and John Ruddock, Esquires, are two of His Majesty's justices of the peace ... Three original certificates of the foregoing tenor ... are signed by the lieutenant-governor, and annexed to three printed copies of this pamphlet. Two of them will be sent to London for the satisfaction of such gentlemen in England as incline to see the originals, viz. One of them to William Bollan, Esq; and the other to Dennis De Bertdt, Esq;--the third remains with the committee."--P. 80, second group.
