The poems in this collection relate to episodes in the history of America from its discovery to the present. Some poems were inspired by the impact of that discovery on the original inhabitants as well as on those who went or were taken to America afterwards. Other poems resonate with the challenges faced by Americans as they pursued and still pursue the legacy of the American Revolution. They express the personal and sympathetic views of one immigrant and reflect his experience of the moral and social issues faced by Americans.
